COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou soccer fell to Auburn 2-0 on Thursday night at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.

Senior Kate Phillips (Fishers, Ind.) turned in a season-high eight saves while the Tigers (3-6-1, 0-3-0 SEC) dropped their third-straight Southeastern Conference match to Auburn (6-1-3, 2-1-0 SEC) in a physical matchup that produced 32 fouls.

"Kate's got a lot of poise to her, and I thought she had some decisiveness tonight," head coach Stefanie Golan said. “When she has to come out and it's a physical confrontation, she shows bravery in those moments. She's fighting as much as she can to keep us in games.”

Auburn scored twice in the first half, coming in the 17th and 20th minutes, to take a 2-0 lead into the break. Freshman Rylie Morse (Lebanon, Ohio) generated Missouri’s best pressure, taking three of the Tigers’ four first-half shots.

AU controlled offensively throughout and finished with a 21-7 edge in shots, but senior Phillips kept the Tigers within reach with her season-high eight saves, seven of which came in the second half.
