NORMAN, Okla. – Missouri soccer dropped its Southeastern Conference opener Friday night, falling 3-1 to unbeaten Oklahoma at John Crain Field.

Junior Emily Derucki (Wildwood, Mo.) cut into the deficit early in the second half, but the Tigers (3-4-1, 0-1-0 SEC) couldn't recover from a three-goal first half by the Sooners (7-0-2, 1-0-0 SEC).

Oklahoma scored three times in the first half, coming in the ninth, 27th and 28th minutes, to lead 3-0 at the half.

The Tigers responded in the second half as Derucki cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 49th minute, finishing a feed from freshman Lana Adams (Perryville, Mo.) for her second goal of the season. The Tigers kept pushing and earned a penalty kick in the 85th minute, but freshman Rylie Morse (Lebanon, Ohio) had her attempt turned aside.

Senior Riley Wilkerson (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) finished with a season-high six saves as Missouri claimed the second half, 1-0.

Missouri returns home to Audrey J. Walton Stadium on Friday, Sept. 18, to host Kentucky in its conference home opener at 6 p.m. for Country for a Cause and Military Appreciation Night. The match will be streamed on SEC Network+.
