COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou soccer rolled past Northern Illinois 4-0 led by a pair of goals from junior Landis Canada (Fenton, Mich.) for the first multi-score game of her collegiate career on Thursday evening at Audrey J. Walton Stadium before 2,069 spectators.

The Tigers (2-2-1) finished with a 15-4 advantage in shots and a 12-1 edge in corner kicks, with their four goals marking a season best. Defensively, Mizzou held the Huskies (0-3-1) to just four shots.

“It was amazing to have 2,000 fans for two games in a row,” Canada said. “I think they really helped contribute to our energy on the field to help us find those goals tonight.”

The Tigers began the match going to work on the offensive half, outshooting the Huskies 8-2 in the opening frame. Canada capitalized on the pressure as she scored her first goal of the season in the 21st minute, with a left-footed shot finding the bottom right of the net following a scramble from a corner kick.

Missouri pulled away after the break. Freshman Lana Adams (Perryville, Mo.) doubled the lead in the 67th minute, powering her first collegiate goal from outside the box and out of reach from the goalkeeper into the top right corner. Just over a minute later, Canada struck again, delivered by a corner kick from freshman Rylie Morse (Lebanon, Ohio) in the 68th minute for a 3-0 cushion.

Freshman Petra Bandula (Oakville, Ontario) capped the scoring in the 75th minute, drilling a shot from outside the box into the upper-right corner for her first goal as a Tiger, with sophomore Landry Hopkins (Dardenne Prairie, Mo.) picking up the assist.

Wilkerson posted a season-high four saves in her first shutout of the year.
