With another capacity crowd expected for Saturday's StorageMart Border Showdown against Kansas, coupled with ongoing construction on the Memorial Stadium Centennial Project, Mizzou Athletics is providing specific instructions on where fans, including students, must enter the stadium based on their seat location.
On Saturday and for the rest of the season, fans will be required to enter the stadium on the side where their seats are located to not cause congestion on the south concourse. Ticket scanners will not allow access on the incorrect side. Additional staff will be positioned near the gates to help direct foot traffic and answer questions. To assist with fans who park on one side of the stadium and sit on the other, Mizzou Athletics will be running courtesy shuttles from Mick Deaver near Lot I to near Gate 5W and vice versa. Shuttles will run from two hours prior to kickoff until one hour after the game concludes.
- Fans sitting on the east side (Sections 101-110, Sections 301-315 in the Tiger Deck, and the student section) must enter via Gates 2E-6E
- Fans sitting on the west side (Sections 116-125) must enter via Gates 2W-6W
- Fans sitting in the south end zone (Sections 126-132) can enter via any gate
- Entrances to the premium Walsworth Family Columns Club, the West Tower and the Multipli Club (Gate 7) remain unchanged
"We understand we are requiring some of our fans to enter the stadium through gates they are not used to due to the stadium construction, but we appreciate everyone's understanding and flexibility," University of Missouri Director of Athletics Laird Veatch said. "Immediately after last week's game, we spent considerable time reviewing our stadium entry procedures and saw unacceptable congestion in the south concourse area that caused significant crowding issues and delays. We focused on ways to fix that issue and adjusted our preseason plan to enable the fastest ways to get all fans to their seats."
As a reminder, to also help allow fans more time to enter the stadium, all gates open two hours prior to kickoff this season. Without a north concourse available for fans to traverse, fans should expect more congestion at remaining entry gates and on concourses inside the stadium and plan accordingly.
