The Tigers prepare for their lone road contest of the regular season.
Mizzou cross country will hit the road to Lincoln, Neb., to race in the Greeno Dirksen Cross Country Invite on Saturday, September 20 at the Mahoney Park Golf Course.
Ryder James, Raymond Kipoech, Elijah Limo, Jamie Mora and Austin Popplewell will represent the Tigers in the men's 8k scheduled at 10 a.m. CT. On the women's side, Teegan Anderson, Elissa Barnard, Charlotte Cullen, Maleah Eggers, Lily Ginsberg and Allison Newman are slated to compete in the 5k at 10:50 a.m.
The Huskers welcome Mizzou along with 31 other schools to Mahoney Park Golf Course, including Air Force, Creighton, Northern Colorado, Omaha and Wichita State.
The contest marks the Tigers' only road meet of the regular season campaign. The last time Missouri competed against the Cornhuskers on their home grounds was on September 18, 2004, at the Woody Greeno Nebraska Invitational, where the women took the first place title with the men finishing fourth.
Mizzou looks to continue its winning ways after beginning the 2025 slate with a pair of first-place finishes at the Mizzou XC Opener on Friday, August 29, at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course. Suzy Lecoutre led the way for the women with a 17:04.2 finish in the 5k in her collegiate debut, while Drew Rogers earned the top spot in the men's 5k in 14:48.1. The women tallied 19 points to end the day, and the men came away with 26.
The Tigers enter the competition after notching top-ten rankings in the first week of the NCAA Division I Regional Rankings, as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday. The women were selected for the No. 5 spot in the Midwest Region, while the men notched the No. 6 ranking.
