COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis head coach Bianca Turati has resigned to accept an associate head coach position at another institution, University of Missouri Director of Athletics Laird Veatch announced Monday.
Mizzou associate head coach Silvia Chinellato has been named interim head coach of the Tigers.
"We appreciate Bianca's dedication to our program over the past three years, and we wish her all the best moving forward," Veatch said. "Silvia has been a great addition to our program since her arrival, and she brings previous head coaching experience and high-level playing experience to this role as interim head coach as we head into the 2025-26 season."
Chinellato joined the Mizzou tennis staff on Sept. 6, 2024. Coming to Columbia, Chinellato made an immediate impact in her first season by helping the team to two ranked Southeastern Conference wins. The Tigers defeated No. 55 Mississippi State (March 2) and No. 22 Florida (March 21).
Chinellato joined the Mizzou staff after spending the 2023-24 season as the head coach at Mount St. Mary's for the men's and women's tennis programs. Beginning her career at Mount St. Mary's as an assistant coach, Chinellato led the women's team to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) playoff spot during her first season at the Mount.Â
The Como, Italy, native spent her five-year college playing career at South Carolina, where she collected a 70-40 record in doubles with a 72-50 mark for her singles career.
