Men’s Golf Second After Day One at Tiger Intercollegiate

University of Missouri men's golf battled to a second-place finish though the first day of the Tiger Intercollegiate with four Tigers sitting in the top 10.
As a team, Mizzou is +7 with all golfers through at least 28 holes of the tournament. The Tigers are just one stroke shy of leaders Nebraska and two strokes ahead of No. 26 UNLV.
On and individual level, graduate student Mattias Varjun is solo first on the leaderboard at one under. He carded a first-round 70 before going -1 through 12 holes of round 2, finishing the day with a birdie on his final hole for the lead.
Following Varjun is freshman Trent Mierl in second place at even par, freshman Bubba Chapman in fifth place at +1 and senior Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson in seventh at +2.
Senior Trevor Mierl and sophomore Veikka Viskari sit just outside the top 10 at +3 and in 14th place.
The final day of competition is set for Tuesday morning, teeing off at 8 a.m., weather dependent.
