
No. 66 Tennis Voyages to No. 18 South Carolina and No. 1 Georgia

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 66 University of Missouri tennis heads off for another weekend trip, traveling to South Carolina to face the No. 18 Gamecocks on Friday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. CT before then going to Athens to take on No. 1 Georgia on Sunday, April 6 at noon CT.
TIGER TALK
Mizzou heads into the weekend with a 12-10 overall record and a 2-9 mark in SEC play. Last weekend, the Tigers dropped two conference matches, one against No. 34 Ole Miss, 6-1, on Friday, March 28. Then, on Sunday, March 30, Missouri dropped a 4-0 match to No. 6 LSU. Bouncing back, MU defeated Southeastern Louisiana 4-0 on Sunday afternoon to split its visit to the bayou.
Four Missouri Tigers have earned double-digit singles wins this season, with freshman Gian Octa leading with 16 and senior Inah Canete following with 15 wins, primarily in the No. 2 spot. Graduate student Lailaa Bashir has earned 13 wins, four of which were from No. 1 and 2 spots. Freshman Korina Roso has earned 11 singles wins, and with partner Canete, they lead the team in doubles with a 14-6 overall record.
THE OPPOSITION
After three straight SEC wins, No. 18 South Carolina is 12-7 overall and 7-4 in conference action. The Gamecocks have two ranked doubles duos and three singles players. Sarah Hamner and Gaia Parravicini come in at No. 31 together, while Olympe Lancelot and Kaitlyn Carnicella are No. 64. Hamner is 17-9 and is ranked No. 17 in the country in singles. Carnicella sits at No. 59, and Misa Malkin, who leads the team with 18 wins, ranks No. 97.
Georgia has not lost since Feb. 1, 2025, sitting 18-1 overall and 11-0 in the SEC. The top-ranked Bulldogs herald four different double pairs ranked in the top 90. Mell Reasco and Dasha Vidmanova are No. 12 together, and Aysegul Mert and Guillermina Grant are No. 22. Meanwhile, Anastasiia Lopata paired with Grant comes in at No. 62. Finally, the combination of Mert with Hayden Mulberry ranks No. 90. Additionally, Vidamanova is the top singles player in the country, coming in at No. 1 with a 26-3 record. Mert ranks No. 40, Lopata is No. 81 and Grant No. 82.
