
Tennis Opens SEC Tournament Wednesday Against Ole Miss

COLUMBIA, Mo. - No. 74 University of Missouri tennis is headed to Auburn, Alabama to face off at Magill Tennis Complex against 10-seed Ole Miss in the first match of the 2025 SEC Championship on Wednesday, April 16. The match is slated to start at noon CT.
TIGER TALK
Ranked at No. 74, the Tigers are 13-14 and 2-13 in the Southeastern Conference. This past weekend, they faced off against No. 9 Tennessee on Friday, April 11 losing 4-1 but fought hard as senior Inah Canete defeated No. 36-ranked singles player to earn the point for the Tigers. On Sunday, April 13, Mizzou hosted a doubleheader, picking up both a loss and a win against No. 36 Kentucky and Lindenwood. No. 9 Kentucky beat the Tigers 4-0, while they beat Lindenwood 4-0 later.
THE OPPOSITION
Ole Miss is ranked 31st nationally and is the 10 seed in the SEC tournament. No. 31 Ole Miss is 14-11 overall and 6-9 in the SEC. They split the past two matches they played, losing against No. 8 Auburn 1-4 on Friday, April 11 then beat No. 36 Florida 6-1 on Sunday, April 13.
Overall, the Rebel leads the Tigers 9-2 in head-to-head matchups. The last time Mizzou went up against Ole Miss, they lost 6-1 on March 28. Junior Andrea Artimedi scored a point for the Tigers, winning her match in the third set 6-4, 2-6, 12-10.
