No. 69 Tennis Falls Short at Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - University of Missouri tennis fell short to Arkansas 4-1 at Billingsley Tennis Center on Sunday, March 9. Missouri is now 10-5 (1-4 SEC) and Arkansas is 3-8 (1-4 SEC).
The Tigers dropped the doubles point, dropping matches at No. 1 and No. 3. Going unfinished against the No. 82 nationally-ranked doubles pair was junior Andrea Artimedi and senior Inah Canete on court two, tied 5-5.
In singles, finishing first and second were graduate student Lailaa Bashir and senior Inah Canete, who lost both sets on courts four and two, respectively. Following was freshman Korina Roso who earned a point for the Tigers winning both sets on court six 6-2, 6-4. Senior Mary Brumfield went up against No.55 in the country and was unfinished on court one, 5-7, 6-6 (3-3). Artimedi fought hard as she forced a third set on court five 3-6, 6-2, 4-4 before going unfinished.

Returning to Columbia, Missouri, the Tigers will welcome No. 3 Texas A&M Friday, March 14 at 2:30 p.m. CT and No. 9 Texas on Sunday, March 9 at noon CT for a Texas-sized tennis-filled weekend.
