Tennis Drops Home Match to No. 2 Texas A&M

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri tennis dropped a home match to No. 2 Texas A&M, 4-0, at Green Tennis Center on Saturday, March 14. Missouri is now 10-5 (1-4 SEC), and Texas A&M is 15-1 (5-0 SEC).
First to finish in doubles was graduate student Lailaa Bashir and freshman Zoe Lazar on court three losing, 6-3. Next were junior Andrea Artimedi and senior Inah Canete who won against the No. 68 ranked doubles pair 6-2 on court two. Last to finish was senior Mary Brumfield and freshman Korina Roso, who fought against the No. 31 ranked doubles pair falling short 3-6 on court one.
In singles, Brumfield fought against the No. 3 ranked singles player on court one, falling short 3-6, 1-6. Canete forced a third set against the No. 15 ranked singles player but lost 1-6, 6-3, 1-6 on court two. Roso also made great effort against the No. 57 nationally ranked singles player, playing in the third set before going unfinished 6-4, 4-6, 1-2.

"Today, we faced the second-best team in the country right now. We showed up with the proper aggressive attitude and mentality. We've been working a lot on that. And it showed today.
We had very encouraging results. Andrea and Inah won at No. 2 doubles. Korina was close to winning at #4 singles in two sets, playing a very good match.
We are excited to keep working and face the matches ahead."
UP NEXT
The Tigers will host No. 13 Texas on Sunday, March 16, at noon CT. The match will be held at the Country Club of Missouri.
