No. 69 Tennis Falls Short Against No. 14 Oklahoma

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri tennis fell short to No. 14 Oklahoma 4-0 at Headington Family Tennis Center on Friday, March 7. Missouri is now 10-4 (1-3 SEC) and Oklahoma is 9-3 (2-2 SEC).
First to finish in doubles was graduate student Lailaa Bashir and freshman Zoe Lazar, who lost 6-1 on court three. They were followed by senior Inah Canete and junior Andrea Artimedi, who also dropped their match on court two, 6-1. Senior Mary Brumfield and freshman Korina Roso had their match go unfinished but were down 3-4 on court one.
The Tigers fought hard but ultimately fell short in singles. Four of the six competed against nationally ranked singles players. Canete went up against No. 17 Julia Garcia Ruiz, losing the first set 3-6 but put in the work during set two, going 1-2 before going unfinished on court two. Roso won her first set against No. 98 Gloriana Nahum 6-4 and was down 0-4 in the second set before going unfinished on court six.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete against the Razorbacks on Sunday, March 9. The match will be held at Billingsley Tennis Center at noon CT.
