
Women’s Golf Earns Top 25 Win; Finishes Fifth at FSU

University of Missouri women's golf finished fifth of 13 teams on Sunday in the Florida State Match-Up, earning its first top-25 win of the season and finishing ahead of two top-50 teams overall.
After posting similar scores in the first two rounds, the Tigers rallied on the last day, improving upon their second round score by nine strokes. Mizzou posted the third-best score of the day with a six-over 294 on Sunday, climbing two spots in the standings into fifth with a score of +37, placing ahead of No. 25 Houston and No. 46 Alabama.
No. 6 Florida State took home the title in their home event as the only team to finish under par.
Freshman Alexandra Berglund led the Tigers push in the final round, recording an even-par 72 to finish the tournament at 223 in 15th. This marks Berglund's first career top-20 finish, while also recording the second-best 18 and 54-hole totals of her collegiate career. Overall, she recorded nine birdies during the tournament, including three on the final day of action.
Senior Ffion Tynan carded a one-over 73 to finish in 15th as well, marking her seventh consecutive top-15 finish on the season. Her day was highlighted by a four-birdie and zero-bogey front nine, including back-to-back birdies to finish the round on holes eight and nine.
Overall, all five Tigers finished inside the top-50 in the 73-golfer field. Fleur van Beek, Addie Dobson and Jade Zamora finished in a three-way tie for 45th with a 54-hole total of 233.
