COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri softball opened the final day of the 2025 Mizzou Invitational with a 7-3 victory over Michigan Saturday morning at the Mizzou Softball Stadium.

With the win, Mizzou gets above .500, improving to 14-13 while the Wolverines now sit at 19-8.

The scoring opened up in the first as the Wolverines used a long ball to claim a 1-0 lead before senior Kara Daly clubbed a three-run shot to center bringing home Stefania Abruscato and Madison Walker.

Mizzou increased their lead to 5-1 using a three-hit inning in the bottom of the third. Abruscato and Walker reached on consecutive singles before Daly walked to load the bases for sophomore Abby Hay who would drive in Abruscato and Walker with a single.

Michigan then used a one-out double and sacrifice fly to plate another in the fourth, trimming the Mizzou lead to 5-2. An inning later, Hay continued her strong day in the fifth with a two-run homer to hand Missouri a commanding 7-2 edge.

Sophomore Marissa McCann tossed her sixth complete game of the campaign, striking out six which marked her most in a seven-inning outing this season. She improved to 6-4 in 2025.

GAME NOTES

Mizzou improved their all-time record against Michigan to 6-4.
Abby Hay matched her season high of four RBI, her third game driving in multiple runs this season.
Abby Hay's pair of hits were her third game with at least two this year.
Kara Daly recorded her fifth multi-RBI outing by matching her season-best of three.
Kara Daly connected on her 35th career home run and is now one homer away from entering the top-10 in Mizzou program history.
Madison Walker extended her hit streak to five games and logged her eighth multi-hit game this season.
Stefania Abruscato's two hit day marked her fifth such game this season.
With her hit today, Claire Cahalan's reached base streak now sits at 12.
Claire Cahalan stole her third base of the season, already matching her total from a season ago.
Marissa McCann's complete game was her sixth this season.
Marissa McCann's six strikeouts puts her one away from 100 career K's.
