COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri track and field team capped off its indoor regular season with record-breaking performances and national rankings across multiple events, highlighted by the men's No. 19 team ranking and No. 7 in shot put.
The Tigers showcased their depth and talent throughout the campaign, setting numerous program marks while competing against elite competition.
In the men's triple jump, sophomore Jonathan Seremes dominated the competition with a nation-leading 16.94m (55-7) mark at the Missouri Invitational. His performance shattered a 47-year-old school record, previously held by Ajayi Agbebaku. Sterling Scott added impressive finishes in the event, securing multiple podium finishes, including a third-place finish at the Tyson Invitational.
Drew Rogers' time of 7:56.00 broke the school's top time in the men's 3000m by over four seconds, which he set in the team's final meet of the year at the Tyson Invitational. Ethan Lee joined Rogers in the top 10, standing in sixth at 4:02.36. Lasse Funck also cracked the top-10 times in the 800m in the team's penultimate home meet, finishing the race in 1:48.96.
Redshirt junior Sam Innes emerged as one of the nation's top weight throw competitors, breaking the program record with a 22.98m (75-4.75) effort at the Bob Teel Invitational. His mark currently ranks 10th nationally and broke the long-held program record previously set by Hall of Famer and multiple-time All-American Chris Rohr. Skylar Coffey closed out the regular season on a high note, improving his personal best in the shot put to 18.74m (61-5.75), moving up to fifth in program history.
Mizzou completely rewrote the record books in the 3000m on the second day of the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational, with four Tigers cracking the program's top 10. Declan Tunney's time of 8:03.92 placed him fourth in school history, Carter Spradling in sixth after he finished in 8:06.13, Ryder James in seventh at 8:06.30 and Andrew Hauser in eighth at 8:07.32. All eight individuals who ran in the race set personal bests.
