Mizzou wrestling travels down I-70 to St. Charles, Missouri, for Journeymen Wrestling's Hustle in the Heartland, Friday, Dec. 5. The Tigers will take on LIU at 6 p.m. CT, followed by No. 6 Nebraska at 8 p.m. CT on FloWrestling.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Tigers dropped a close contest against No. 9 Illinois, 21-16, with the dual coming down to the heavyweight match.
- Getting their hands raised for Mizzou were Mack Mauger, Josh Edmond, Aeoden Sinclair and Evan Bates.
- Mauger (125) started the dual strongly, avenging last week's loss to No. 22 Spencer Moore. No. 25 Mauger earned a takedown in sudden victory to the upset win, 5-2.
- At 133 pounds, Kade Moore went toe to toe with defending National Champion Lucas Byrd and had him on his back in the first period. In a controversial no-call for the pin, Byrd crawled back to win the match 12-9.
- Sinclair at 184 and Bates at 197 both earned their team-leading 11th win of the season by injury default and major decision, respectively.
CLIMB THE RANKS
- The Tigers come into the weekend at No. 12 in the NWCA Coaches Poll.
- Redshirt freshman Aeoden Sinclair ranks second at 184 pounds.
- Mack Mauger (125) and Kade Moore (133) both moved up three spots, listed as No. 22 and No. 17, respectively.
- Zeke Seltzer also moved up in the 141-pound rankings, rising two spots to No. 18.
THE CATALYSTS
- Leading the Tigers with 11 wins apiece are Aeoden Sinclair and Evan Bates, with Sinclair also accumulating the fewest losses with one.
- Bates also tops the team with nine bonus-point wins to start the season, followed by Sinclair with seven.
- Sinclair is out in front with four falls, while Mack Mauger is close behind with three pins.
ALL-TIME VS. LIU
- The match at Hustle in the Heartland will serve as the first meeting between Missouri and LIU.
ALL-TIME VS. NEBRASKA
- Mizzou and Nebraska will meet for the 61st time in program history, with the Tigers holding a 19-39-3 record against the Cornhuskers.
- In the Brian Smith era, Missouri is 5-9 against Nebraska and has split the last four matches (2-2) dating back to the 2008-09 season.
- The team's win against Nebraska in 2001-02 (24-16) was Mizzou's first against the former Big 12 foe since 1987-88.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE CORNHUSKERS
- No. 6 Missouri topped No. 11 Nebraska, 19-14, at NWCA National Duals on Feb. 21, 2016.
- Earning decision wins for the Tigers were Barlow Mcgee (125), Matt Manley (141), Daniel Lewis (165), Blaise Butler (174) and Willie Miklus (184).
- Mizzou legend J'den Cox added a major decision at 197 pounds (16-7) to earn his 100th career win and become the fastest wrestler in program history to reach the feat.
CRASH THE COUGAR CLASH
- Missouri will also send a contingent to Edwardsville, Illinois, for the Cougar Clash on Sunday, Dec. 7.
- Finishing second last year as a team in the event, with Jarrett Stoner taking the top spot at heavyweight with a win over Minnesota's Bennett Tabor, 4-2.

ON THE HORIZON
- Mizzou returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 14, when it takes on No. 16 Northern Iowa on the road. The dual can be streamed on FloWrestling and will begin at 1 p.m. CT.
