
Mizzou Alumni Micaela Minner Selected in Inaugural Women’s Professional Baseball League Draft

The former softball standout was drafted by the San Francisco team in the sixth round.
Former Mizzou softball standout Micaela Minner was drafted as the 13th pick of the sixth round by San Francisco in the inaugural Women's Professional Baseball League Draft on Thursday, Nov. 20.
Minner became the first former Tiger to be drafted into the new league, joining a cast of 120 players from around the globe.
During her time with Mizzou (2005-09), Minner was one of the most prolific hitters in the Big XII, earning three All-Big 12 honors and two All-Midwest Region honors. Minner is sixth in program history for batting average with a .352 average, second in doubles with 56, ninth in home runs with 40, and fourth in RBIs with 180.
Other players to be drafted to the league include former LLWS superstar Mo'ne Davis, current Savannah Bananas pitcher and outfielder Kelsie Whitmore, Toronto Maple Leafs Intercounty Baseball League pitcher Ayami Sato, and numerous other talent from around the world.
Minner is one of 30 players on the inaugural San Francisco roster, as the season is set to start August 1, 2026, and will run through the second half of September. The league's debut season will feature the four announced teams - Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and San Francisco – and will be held at the historic Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Illinois.
