
Swimming and Diving Drops Season Opener to Purdue

Women's squad falls 184-116 while the men's squad drops 192-108.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – A strong showing from newcomers wasn't enough to push University of Missouri swimming and diving past Purdue in their 2025-26 season opener at Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center Saturday.
The Boilermaker women defeated Mizzou, 184-116, while the Purdue men pushed past the Tigers by a score of 192-108. The Tigers secured eight individual wins and a relay victory in the meet.
Newcomers Quinlan Gould and Libby Bakker put up wins in their first meets as Tigers. A transfer from Arizona State, Gould took home the 100 back with a time of 47.22. Bakker, a freshman from Maple Grove, Minn., earned her first career win in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.06.
Off to a strong start, Lina Bank brought home three wins from West Lafayette, Ind. The Colorado native took gold in the 100 breast (1:02.14), 200 breast (2:18.39) and the 200 medley relay (27.41 split).
Jan Zubik picked up a pair of wins against Purdue. The senior won the 100 fly in 46.65 then followed with another win in the 200 IM in 1:47.07.
NOTABLE RESULTS
- The women's 200 medley relay squad of Sydney Bales, Bank, Grace Hanson and Katie Kuehn swam 1:40.59 to win the event.
- Senior Collier Dyer remains strong on the springboard with a victory in 1-meter diving (364.58).
- Earning his first career win in the 200 fly, Matthew Judkins put up a time of 1:45.75 against the Boilermakers.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will return home to host Vanderbilt and McKendree in a double dual on November 1. The meet will begin at 10 a.m. from Mizzou Aquatic Center and streamed on SEC Network+.
