COLUMBIA, Mo. – Heading into Friday's Beauty and the Beast event, University of Missouri wrestling will be without two four-time NCAA All-Americans, head coach Brian Smith announced Thursday.
Rocky Elam, who finished sixth at last year's NCAA Championship at 197 pounds, will remain unavailable for the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to injury. Keegan O'Toole will miss the month of January while recovering from an injury he has been battling during the season. Smith remains optimistic that his two-time National Champion will be back in time for the postseason.
"We are home the whole month of January, so I felt it was important to let the fan base know," Smith said. "Rocky has been recovering from multiple injuries and will not be back this season. Keegan sustained an injury earlier in the year and has been battling through it. We ultimately made the decision that it is best to hold him out and let him recover as much as possible."
