
Softball to Open 2025 Season at NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri softball team will compete in the NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic to commence the 2025 season Feb. 6-9 in Clearwater, Florida.
The 22nd edition of the event will take place at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. This four-day showcase of collegiate softball features 17 programs from 8 different conferences.
Mizzou is set to face 2024 Women's College World Series (WCWS) participant Duke along with 2024 NCAA Regional teams Northwestern and Penn State over the Leadoff Classic.
The Tigers will also meet Notre Dame and Marshall at the 2025 NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic..
All games will be streamed live (free) on the GameChanger App with contests on fields 8 and 9 featuring a dedicated broadcast team and a multi-camera view.

Mizzou will start the 2025 season with back-to-back weekends in Clearwater, Florida, as it will also compete in the 2025 Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational Presented by EvoShield the following weekend (Feb. 13-16).

MIZZOU SOFTBALL
Last season, Missouri knocked off No. 5 Clemson, 4-1, in a winner-take-all matchup to claim the outright title at the 2024 NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic. The Tigers (5-0) went undefeated during their opening weekend to earn their first Classic title.
MU also picked up wins over Utah (4-3), NC State (13-0), Liberty (10-1) and South Alabama (6-3).
Mizzou is coming off another impressive season in 2024, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the 17th consecutive year. The Tigers totaled 48 wins in 2024, their highest total in the program's SEC era and fourth-most in program history.
Anderson most recently led the Tigers to a top-10 finish, an NCAA Super Regional appearance and the team's second Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship appearance in three seasons.
Mizzou won four-straight Regional games before competing against Duke in a three-game Columbia Super Regional series.
The Tigers return six starters from the 2024 NCAA Super Regional team including SEC All-Defensive right fielder Kayley Lenger, NFCA All-Region first baseman Abby Hay along with catcher Julia Crenshaw and third baseman Kara Daly.
In the circle, Mizzou returns starters Cierra Harrison and Marissa McCann along with NCAA saves leader Taylor Pannell.
