COLUMBIA, Mo. – Former University of Missouri wrestler Jarrett Jacques joins the Tiger Style staff as Recruiting Coordinator, announced Head Coach Brian Smith on Aug. 12.
"I am excited to have Jarrett join our staff as our recruiting coordinator," said Smith on Jacques hiring. "He cares about the program and brings great energy and wrestling knowledge to the mats every day. Pairing those qualities with his determination to grow and get better will add to Tiger Style."
Jacques joins the staff in a part-time role to assist in recruiting operations. The Columbia, Missouri native, spent five seasons (2018-23) in Black and Gold, amassing a 102-40 record and tying him for 26th in the program in career wins. Jacques is a five-time NCAA qualifier and a 2019 Mid-American Conference Champion at 157 pounds.
After graduating, Jacques turned his focus to freestyle and international competition. Wrestling at 74kg, he placed fourth at the 2023 U.S. Open, Bill Farrell, Senior Nationals and again at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. His fourth-place finish in an Olympic year team trials earned him a spot on the U.S. National Team for the first time in his career.
"I loved being part of Tiger Style as a wrestler and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help them continue their winning ways as part of the staff," said Jacques. "I hope I am able to help bring even more success to this amazing program."
Jacques graduated from Missouri in 2022 with a degree in communication. He married his wife, Devin, in the summer of 2023, and earned his masters in positive coaching in 2024.
