
Swimming and Diving Registers Strong Second Day at Georgia Invitational

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri swimming and diving turned in a strong second day of competition at the Georgia Invitational, highlighted by 35 swimmers and three divers advancing to finals at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
The Tigers were well represented in Thursday's round of finals. Seven Mizzou swimmers advanced to A-competition finals, with three of those earning spots on the podium.
Grant Bochenski continued his strong performance on day two in Athens, placing second in the men's 100 back with a time of 45.66. Junior Jan Zubik found his way to the podium in the men's 100 fly, as the Poland native recorded a time of 45.99 to earn bronze.
Bochenski and Zubik were both members of the men's 200 medley relay team that earned a third-place finish. Logan Ottke and Luke Nebrich rounded out the team that clocked a 1:24.19 performance.
Collier Dyer earned his spot on the men's 3-meter diving podium with a score of 373.80 that earned a second-place finish.
The women's squad found success on the short-course through Karolina Bank in the 100 breast and Paige Striley in the 100 fly. Bank placed fourth with a time of 59.97, and Striley earned fifth with a 52.62 performance.
Megan Jolly continued to prove herself on the springboard with a fifth place finish in the women's 1-meter diving competition. She amassed a score of 265.20.
Alex Ochsenbein advance to the men's 100 breast final round, as the redshirt freshman placed fifth with a swim of 52.60.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will compete in the third and final day of the Georgia Invitational Friday, with prelims beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT. Diving will compete in a final competition at 10:30 a.m., followed by swimming finals at 4:00 p.m.
