
Four Tigers Set for NACAC Track Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Four University of Missouri Track and Field athletes are set to compete in the North American-Central-American-Caribbean Championships in Freeport, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas from Friday through Sunday.
Arianna Fisher, Claudina Diaz, Roberto Vilches and Sophia Rivera will represent the Tigers in the competition.
For Fisher, the championships will mark her first competition since she broke her own school record in the triple jump at the United States National Championships with a mark of 13.63m / 44-8.75.
Diaz enters the offseason meet after taking ninth in the high jump (1.68m/5-6) at the SEC Outdoor Championships. The Marida, Yucatan, Mexico native claimed first in the event (1.76m/5-9.25) at the Crimson Tide Invitational and took second (1.77m/5-9.75) at the Texas Relays.
Rivera, a Brentwood, Mo. native, will enter the javelin and discus field. She placed ninth nationally (53.87m/176-9) in the javelin at the NCAA outdoor championships in June.
The upcoming senior also took third in the discus at the 2019 SEC Outdoor Championships (52.56m/172-5).
Roberto will represent the Missouri men's roster in the high jump following an eighth-place finish (2.15m/7-0.5) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Mexico City, Mexico native finished atop the conference at the SEC Indoor Championships in February.
