Tigers bring home top-5 rated transfer in the country
COLUMBIA, Mo. – One of the top transfers in the country and Columbia native, Isiaih Mosley, has committed to return home and play for Mizzou in 2022-23.
"Mizzou is home," Mosley said. "I'm excited about what is building here and want to help bring a winning culture to Mizzou. Committing here was an easy choice because it's back home, but it was made even easier after talking with coach Gates and the rest of the staff."
The fourth-rated transfer in the country by CBS Sports, Mosley ranked 15th nationally in 2021-22 with 20.4 points per game. Last season, he caught national attention becoming one of three Division 1 players in the last 20 years to shoot over 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from three and 90 percent at the free throw line.
Mosley joins the Tigers following three successful seasons at Missouri State, where he led the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring in back-to-back seasons. A two-time NABC All-District and All-MVC player, Mosley also contributed 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. His 692 points last season were the second-most in program history.
"I am ecstatic to have Isiaih back home in Columbia," said head coach Dennis Gates. "It is a priority for us to make Mizzou THE destination for our in-state kids. I believe Isiaih will have an impact in all areas that are important to our program – in the classroom as he works toward his degree, on the court as he excels with his teammates and in the community as he gives back to the same city that raised him."
Poised to enter next season as one of the most elite scorers in the nation, Mosley has 1,434 career points and a 49.8 percent field goal percentage. He scored 20 or more points in 17 outings last season, including a career-high 43 points against UNI.
Mosley returns to Columbia, where he had an outstanding high school career. Mosley led Rock Bridge to a 2019 Class 5A State Title, averaging a team-high 23.2 points and 6.9 rebounds on his way to earning Mr. Show-Me Basketball.
