Mizzou downs No. 3 Arkansas to even series
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Trailing by two heading into the bottom of the seventh, University of Missouri baseball scored four times to earn a come-from-behind, 7-5 win over No. 3 Arkansas on Saturday afternoon at Taylor Stadium.
Senior Josh Day produced the biggest hit of the frame, a two-out, two-run double down the left field line to put Mizzou (13-6, 1-4 SEC) ahead for good in the seventh. Day finished 3-for-5 on the afternoon to lead the Tigers at the plate. Freshman Justin Colon added a 2-for-4 game, including the game-tying RBI single in his first career start.
On the mound, sophomore Ian Lohse (1-1) earned the win with 2.1 scoreless innings in relief. The southpaw struck out four while allowing just one hit and a walk in closing out the win.
Arkansas (17-4, 4-1 SEC) scored four of its five runs in a wild second inning as a fly ball lost in the sun and an error led to the damage, all with two outs. Elijah Trest (0-1) took the loss after allowing two runs in his relief outing.
IMPACT INNING
Trailing 5-3 at the stretch, Mizzou strung together four runs on three hits in the bottom half of the seventh to take the lead. Tre Morris drew a four-pitch walk to start the inning and came around to score on three-consecutive wild pitches to trim the deficit to 5-4. After Torin Montgomery walked and moved to third on a ground out and wild pitch, Colon delivered the game-tying knock with a single through the left side of the drawn-in Razorback infield.
Mike Coletta singled to put runners at the corners before a Nander De Sedas walk loaded the bases for Day. With a 1-1 count, Day roped the go-ahead double down the left field line to send the Tigers into the lead.

FROM THE SKIP
Coach Bieser on team's character and the comeback win…
"Well, this is one of those wins that you're very happy for. A lot of things went wrong early, we could have folded, it just looked like things weren't going our way early but this team, they love to play and they play with some passion and were just able to battle through some tough times."
