SERIES BUSINESS

- The black & gold is 41-14 all-time in Columbia against the Billikens.
- Mizzou has won 10-straight in the series dating back to 2004.
- Each of the last two meetings have been one-run affairs, with the Tigers earning a 4-3 win in 2019 and a 2-1 victory in 2021.
A QUICK SPIN WEST
- Mizzou is returning home after an abbreviated weekend in Arizona where the Tigers picked up wins over San Francisco and Arizona State.
- The trip replaced a home series with Gonzaga which was snowed out. The Tigers learned their destination late Thursday and flew out to the desert on Friday to hop in on the previously scheduled series between USF and Arizona State.
- Mizzou used strong pitching throughout the weekend to earn a 4-1, come-from-behind win over the Dons on Saturday and a 6-4 win over the Sun Devils on Sunday.
- Ross Lovich finished the two-game set 6-for-9 with a pair of doubles and four RBI.
- The Tigers' pitching staff surrendered just four runs between the two games, posting a 2.50 ERA in the weekend set. Mizzou pitchers fanned 17 batters and held USF and Arizona State to just .203 hitting.
LOVICH HANDLING THE LOAD
- Sophomore Ross Lovich continued his strong start to the 2022 season with a 6-for-9 weekend against Arizona State and San Francisco.
- Lovich set a career high in hits with his 4-for-4 day against the Dons which included a double and two RBI. He added another double and RBI against Arizona State a day later.
- On the year, the lefty leads the Tigers with 19 hits and is second on the club with a .388 batting average. He enters the week with an OPS of 1.015.
- The speedy outfielder has also created havoc on the basepaths, going 5-of-6 in stolen bases.
BULLPEN BANDITS
- Mizzou's bullpen has been one of the brightest developments on the young season, posting a 3.59 ERA in 62.2 innings of work.
- The Tiger relievers have not allowed a run in six games this season.
- The bullpen has also excelled in closing out games, recording saves in seven of the Tigers' 11 wins on the year.
SCOUTING THE BILLIKENS
- Saint Louis enters the midweek tilt with a 7-7 record on the season. The Billikens are streaking, however, winning six of their last seven games.
- SLU took its weekend series from Purdue Fort Wayne, bookending the set with 5-2 wins.
- The Billikens are hitting .261 as a team. Former Tiger Cameron Swanger leads SLU with 11 RBI while hitting .304.
- On the mound, the Billikens own a 6.57 ERA and will send Jackson Holmes to the bump on Tuesday. Holmes has a 4.50 ERA over 8.0 IP this season.
- Plenty of familiar faces will return to Taylor Stadium as four former Tigers are now Billikens. Mark Vierling, Cameron Swanger, Cameron Pferrer and Alex Peterson all return to CoMo for the first time.
