Mizzou Tennis Releases 2021-22 Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis and head coach Chris Wootton announced the team's 2021-22 schedule Tuesday morning. The fall slate features a handful of events preparing the team for a spring slate that includes a 13-match SEC schedule in addition to 10 additional non-conference matchups.
Mizzou heads into the 2021-22 schedule, following a successful first season under Wootton where he oversaw Bronte Murgett become the first Tiger in program history to record a win in the NCAA Singles Tournament. Murgett returns to help lead an experienced roster that returns its top five of its top six singles competitors from a year ago, who all amassed 10 or more wins in 2020-21.
The Tiger's fall schedule opens with a duel against UT Martin on Sept. 11, before the Tigers head to the Milwaukee Classic Open Sept. 18-20 and compete in ITA All-Americans Oct. 1-10 in Charleston, S.C. Mizzou will also travel to Iowa City, Iowa to take part in the ITA Regionals Oct. 21-24.
The spring portion of Mizzou's schedule opens Jan. 21 with four-consecutive matches on the road against Iowa, Oklahoma State, Texas and Illinois. The team then opens its home slate in Columbia, Mo. with back-to-back home matches against SEMO Feb. 18 and Central Arkansas Feb. 19.
Mizzou's 2021-22 schedule features 18 faceoffs against team's that finished in the top-50 of the 2021 ITA Women's Tennis rankings, including defending national champion Texas and SEC Champion Georgia.
The Tigers will play at home against Florida (Mar. 18), South Carolina (Mar. 20), Georgia (Apr. 1), Tennessee (April 3), LSU (Apr. 15) and Texas A&M (Apr. 17). The 2022 SEC Women's Tennis Championships are slated to be held in Gainesville, Fla. April 19-24, prior to the NCAA Championships May 6-9.
