The decorated Mizzou Women’s Golfer caps off her career
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golfer senior Jess Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) closed out her spring season and career on Wednesday at the NCAA Louisville Regional tournament. Yuen competed in the first two rounds carding an 84 and 88 respectively, but was forced to withdraw from the event before the final day due to a sustained injury.
This marked the second post-season run for the senior after advancing to the NCAA Championships in 2017 where she claimed the highest NCAA individual finish in program history tied for 57th place.
After battling an injury and shortened season due to COVID-19 last year, Yuen's talent and strong performance returned for her final showing as a Tiger. She caught fire mid-fall to secure four consecutive Top-20 finishes to wrap up the regular season. The veteran led the team in total birdies with 63 for the 2020-21 campaign and finished with a 73.72 career scoring average. Her season-best finish was at the Liz Murphey Spring Collegiate Classic where she finished tied for third.
Yuen leaves as one of the most decorated players in program history after racking up 35 rounds under par, five of which came from this season, as well as 11 career events under par. Her career-best round score of 65 still stands tied for the program's low 18-hole score. She leaves Mizzou with seven Top-5 finishes.
