Kylie Deberg, Andrea Fuentes, Anna Dixon all garner conference honors
COLUMBIA, Mo. – A trio of Mizzou Volleyball players were selected to the All-SEC Team as voted by conference head coaches. Senior Kylie Deberg, redshirt junior Andrea Fuentes and sophomore Anna Dixon each earned All-SEC recognition.
For Deberg, the All-SEC selection is her third in as many seasons. The outside hitter piled up 400 digs to lead the league offensively. She also led the SEC in total points (468.5), total aces (40), kills per set (4.71), points per set (5.51) and aces per set (0.47). Deberg ranks third in the country in total kills and total points, second in total aces, sixth in kills per set and fourth in points per set.
Fuentes earned her second All-SEC honor and her third overall SEC recognition after being a 2018 All-Freshman Team selection. Fuentes set the Tigers to the third-best hitting percentage in the SEC and 26th-best mark in the nation. Her 10.16 assists per set were good for fourth in the league in 2020-21. Fuentes eclipsed 50 assists on three occasions and added an average of 1.84 digs per set. She produced a career-best 0.51 kills per set and hit .333 for the season.
Dixon picked up her first All-SEC recognition in her first campaign with Mizzou. The Kansas State transfer and 2019 All-Big 12 Rookie Team member finished 2020-21 second on the team with 254 kills. Dixon ranked 11th in the SEC in total kills and points. She produced seven matches of 15 or more kills.
Mizzou placed at least three student-athletes on the All-SEC squad for the ninth consecutive year. The Tigers now have 28 All-SEC award winners since joining the league in 2012.
The Tigers will learn their fate in a condensed 48-team NCAA Tournament this afternoon. The NCAA Volleyball Selection Show is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
