Mizzou Closes Out SEC Championship Play

Rory Franssen snagged his spring-best finish
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Men's Golf wrapped up their time in the SEC Championship Friday afternoon in St. Simons Island, Ga. after competing in three days of tournament play. The Tigers placed in 13th with an 877 (286-291-300) total score.
Veteran Rory Franssen started the week hot, firing his 60th career round under par with a 2-under 68 in the opening round. He continued on to post a 75, followed by a 71 to claim his spring-best finish tied for 20th, leading the Tigers.
Both sophomore Yu-Ta Tsai and junior Tommy Boone wrapped up the week at T-53 with an 11-over 221. Tsai sandwiched a 3-over 73 with a pair of 74s while Boone's performance was highlighted by his second round 2-over 72 score.
Closing out Mizzou's team score was graduate student Walker Kesterson who finished with a 24-over 234.
Redshirt sophomore Ross Steelman carded an even-par 70 and 1-over 71 respectively but withdrew from the competition on the third day.
