GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mizzou Baseball (11-21, 4-9 SEC) fell 8-5 to No. 18 Florida (23-11, 7-6 SEC) on Friday night at Florida Ballpark. The game was initially delayed by just under three hours due to rain, finishing well after midnight.

Mizzou starter Seth Halvorsen struggled in the contest, giving up seven runs over 4.2 innings. Six of the runs came during the bottom of the third inning, which put the Gators up 7-1.

The first Tiger run was put on the board in the third inning beginning with a double down the right-field line from sophomore Ty Wilmsmeyer. He later scored on an errant throw.

The team tacked on a four-spot the following inning to close the Florida lead to just two runs. Redshirt sophomore Luke Mann plated two of the runs on a wall-ball double and scored one batter later on a seeing-eye single from junior Mike Coletta. He was brought in with one out on a sacrifice fly from senior Mark Vierling.

Mizzou would get the tying run up to the plate in the eighth and ninth innings but was unable to bring any runners in.
