Mizzou’s Murgett gets a win at No. 1 to improve 14-4 on the season

COLUMBIA, Mo. – No. 36 Mizzou Tennis (13-6, 1-3 SEC) fell to No. 40 Kentucky (10-2, 2-2 SEC), 4-1, on Friday afternoon at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Mizzou was leading in the final two singles matches that were halted when the Wildcats clinched the match.

DOUBLES

Kentucky won the doubles point after taking matches on courts 1 and 3.

SINGLES

In singles play, junior Bronte Murgett (Holmfirth, Great Britain) earned Mizzou's lone win of the day at the No. 1 spot, as she defeated Akvile Parazinskaite, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 to improve to 14-4 in singles action this season. Kentucky clinched the match after winning on courts 1, 4 and 6.

Mizzou will next face No. 9 Vanderbilt on Sunday, March 7. The match is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. CT at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
