Columbia, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (8-16, 1-5 SEC) plays host to Texas A&M (18-9, 2-4 SEC) in a three-game SEC series beginning Thursday, April 1, at Taylor Stadium.
The first two games of the series on Thursday and Friday will air on SEC Network+ with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday's finale is slated for broadcast on SEC Network in a 3 p.m. first pitch.
Fans can also tune-in to KTGR (105.1 FM, 100.5 FM, 1580 AM) to catch the Tigers throughout the entire 2021 season with Tex Little and Matt Michaels on the call.
The matchup
• Mizzou welcomes Texas A&M to Taylor Stadium for the 90th meeting in Thursday's series opener. The Aggies hold a 51-37-1 advantage in the all-time series.
• The most recent series between the Aggies and Tigers came in 2019. The series ended in a split after the finale concluded in a tie due to travel restrictions for Mizzou. The draw was the first tie for Mizzou since 2004.
• The series will turn 55 years old, with the first-ever meeting coming on April 4, 1966. Mizzou earned a 4-3 win in the original meeting.
KEEFER KEEPS GOING
• Fifth-year Andrew Keefer has racked up a base-knock in eight of the past nine games. He produced a 3-for-5 day on Tuesday at Kansas, his sixth multi-hit game of the year.
• Over those nine games, Keefer is hitting .419 (13-for-31) with four doubles, a triple and team-leading seven runs scored. He has also added five walks during the stretch to reach at a .500 clip.
• Keefer recorded multi-hit days in each of the last two games at Kentucky, adding a double on Sunday and a run-scored on Saturday.
• For the Kentucky series, Keefer hit a team-leading .455. He went 5-for-11 with a double, two walks and a pair of runs scored.
HISE HOLDS HIS OWN
• Freshman Zach Hise made just his third career start in Saturday's finale against top-ranked Vanderbilt, but the right-hander showed he has what it takes to compete with the best.
• In two trips through the order, Hise held the Commodores scoreless and scattered three hits.
• He struck out a career-best six batters against Vanderbilt in just four innings of work.
• The rookie has been Mizzou's most effective starter in the first two SEC series, earning a 3.12 ERA in 8.2 IP. He's struck out eight batters, one off the team lead in conference action.
LOCKDOWN LOHSE
• Freshman Ian Lohse picked up his first collegiate win at Saint Louis (3/10) and followed by earning his second save of the season in Sunday's finale at Illinois State (3/14).
• At Saint Louis, the left-hander worked 3.1 IP in relief and did not allow a run or a hit in picking up the win.
• Lohse struck out a career-best seven batters, including the final batter to seal the 2-1 win.
• At Illinois State Lohse worked the final three innings for Mizzou to earn his second save. He did not allow an earned run and surrendered just one hit in the outing.
• Lohse's success has carried over into the first two SEC series, as the rookie has posted a 1.42 ERA in his past five appearances (SLU, Ill. St., UK, VU, KU). During that stretch, Lohse has worked 12.2 IP with just four hits allowed and a pair of earned runs. He's struck out a team-leading 18 batters in the past 11 games and held opponents to .103 hitting.
