COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer (5-4-2) will play their first road game of the 2021 spring slate on Saturday against Notre Dame (5-5-0). The Tigers and Fighting Irish have played one time, with the Fighting Irish winning 1-0 in 2016.
In the spring, the Tigers currently hold a 1-1-0 record after defeating Creighton and falling to No. 14 BYU.
Mizzou will look to get their high-scoring attack back on track after being shut out for the first time in the 2021 season against BYU. The Tigers average 1.82 goals per game and 15.3 shots per game.
Junior forward Julissa Cisneros leads the offensive attack with three goals and two assists on the season. Cisneros' goal against Creighton moved her into a tie for 10th on the Mizzou all-time goals list.
Senior Cassidy Nurnberger has been the leader of the Tigers' defense. The midfielder has moved to the back line to provide some experience for the defense. She has played all 90 minutes in each game of the spring. Both Isabella Alessio and Gillian McKenna Sheehan have recorded minutes in goal during the spring, with Alessio taking the lion's share.
