
Mizzou Track & Field Completes First Day of NCAA Indoor Championships

Ward and Conrad place 4th and 15th, respectively
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Mizzou Track & Field completed its first day of competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday afternoon, as both Ja'Mari Ward (Cahokia, Ill.) and Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) earned All-America honors in the men's long jump and 800m run, respectively.
NOTABLE FINISHES
Ward, who has qualified for three NCAA Championships, notched a fourth-place finish in the men's long jump and reset his own school record in the process with a leap of 8.11m (26-7.25). For his performance, Ward earned him First Team All-America honors, as one of the top-8 finishers in the event. His mark also surpasses the U.S. Olympic Trial Standard of 8.00m. Ward alone picked up five points towards Mizzou's total team score with his record-breaking jump.
Conrad wrapped up his successful indoor season with a 15th place finish in the men's 800m run in a time of 1:50.73. Conrad earned Second Team All-America honors for his performance.

The Tigers continue competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday, when Mizzou's triple jump squad takes the runway. Georgi Nachev will start the day at 1:00 p.m. CT on the men's side, while Arianna Fisher and Euphenie Andre will compete at 5:00 p.m. CT.
