COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou's men's and women's diving teams will vie for NCAA Championships berths as the programs compete at the three-day NCAA Zone D Diving Championships, held March 11-13, at the Lancaster Aquatics Center in Kentucky, Ky.
Zone D consists of divers from 16 different schools.
The meet gets underway on Thursday with the women's 1-meter and men's 3-meter competition. Following preliminaries, 18 divers will advance to finals, with scores carried over. Friday's events include women's 3-meter and men's platform, while women's platform and men's 1-meter will take place on Saturday.
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at their respective zone diving meet will be eligible to compete at the NCAA championships. Additional place finishers in each event at each zone are eligible based on the number of student-athletes from that zone who finished in the top 16 in that event at the previous year's completed and contested NCAA championships. Based on last year's NCAA performances, Zone D will advance 10 women on 1-meter, 13 women on 3-meter and nine women at platform, while nine men will qualify on both 1-meter and 3-meter and eight men on platform.
Five Tigers are slated to compete at the Championships. Men's competitors include junior Ike Khamis, sophomore Carlo Lopez and freshman Takuto Endo, while junior Sarah Rousseau and sophomore Savana Trueb will go on the women's side.
Khamis qualified for the NCAA Championships as a freshman in 2019, earning a berth on platform, and Lopez and Trueb both earned bids as freshmen in 2020, with Lopez qualifying on 3-meter and platform and Trueb on platform.
