Swimming and Diving Hosts Texas A&M Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri swimming and diving will host Texas A&M for its second home dual of the 2024-25 season Friday (Nov. 1) at Mizzou Aquatic Center.
The Tigers are coming off a closely contested dual loss to Purdue last Friday (Oct. 25) in which MU earned gold in 12 events. The Boilermaker women defeated the No. 25 Tigers, 161-139, and the Purdue men edged Mizzou by a score of 151-149.
The Tigers will dedicate the meet to Colten, a pediatric cancer patient, in partnership with Playing 4 Hope.
Competition begins at 10 a.m., with live results available via the Meet Mobile and DiveMeets apps. Additionally, the meet will be streamed lived via SEC Network+. Admission is free and open to the public. Fans are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and candy will be handed out at the entrance.
AGAINST TEXAS A&M
- The MU men trail the Aggies 6-4 all-time, while the A&M women bring a 10-2 series edge into Friday's meet.
- The Tigers last faced the Aggies on January 6, 2018, at Texas A&M Student Recreation Center Natatorium.
- The MU men dropped a 169-131 decision, while the women fell 169-118 in College Station.
LAST TIME OUT: PURDUE
- The Tigers relays found success, contributing to three of Mizzou's event wins. The men's 400 free relay team consisting of Philipp Peschke, Grant Bochenski, Luke Nebrich and Francois Malherbe posted a time of 2:56.18 to claim gold.
- MU also won the men's 200 medley relay (Bochenski, Logan Ottke, Jaden Pospishil and Nebrich), while the Mizzou women's 200 medley team (Sydney Bales, Karolina Bank, Grace Hanson and Francesca Smith) secured a victory with a time of 1:40.89.
- Junior Collier Dyer was named the Southeastern Conference Men's Co-Diver of the Week on Tuesday following his performance against Purdue. A native of Littleton, Colorado, he notched his first win of the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 356.03 in the 1-meter springboard. Dyer also picked up a silver in the 3-meter springboard, finishing with a score of 376.20.
- Bochenski claimed the men's 100 back with a swim of 48.99, while also winning the 400 free and 200 medley relays.
- Jan Zubik was the Tigers' top scorer in their season-opening dual with Purdue, logging a pair of individual golds in the 200 fly (1:44.46) and 200 back (1:47.20). The Wolomin, Poland product also netted a second-place finish in the 100 fly and helped MU's 200 medley relay (1:29.01) to a silver as well.
- Bank logged three wins for the second consecutive meet last weekend. The junior won the 100 breast with a time of 1:02.43, as well as an individual victory in the 200 breast, clocking in at 2:16.92. She capped her morning by helping the Tigers' 200 medley relay to its second straight win to open the 2024-25 season (1:40.89), turning in a split of 27.69.
- Abbey Taute brought home a win in the 200 back, while both Zoe Schneider (1000 free) and Taylor Williams (200 fly) also picked up golds in individual events for the Tigers.
- Peschke, a freshman, delivered a strong all-around performance in his collegiate debut last Friday. He logged a pair of second-place finishes in individual events, as well as a win as part of the Tigers' 400 free relay (2:56.18) and a third-place effort in the 200 medley relay (1:30.40). The Langenfeld, Germany product finished in 1:37.50 in the 200 free and 1:47.80 in the 200 back to claim silver in each.
- Gabriela San Juan Carmona earned her second-straight podium finish in the 3-meter springboard, scoring a season-best 320.25 vs. Purdue, which was good for silver for the junior transfer. She also finished sixth in the 1-meter (266.33).
- Freshman Katie Kuehn registered a trio of podium finishes for the Tigers. The Palatine, Ill., product clocked personal bests in both the 100 free (50.86) and 50 free (23.25), placing second and third, respectively. She also swam the lead leg of MU's 400 free relay that also took second (3:22.56).
UP NEXT
Following a two-week hiatus, the Tigers will compete in the Georgia Invitational, November 20-22 in Athens, Georgia.
