
Mizzou Men’s Golf Kicks Off Spring Season in the Sunshine State

The Gator Invitational will take place from Feb.12-14
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Tigers travel to Gainesville, Fla. to tee off on Friday in their first spring event, the Gator Invitational. Hosted by Florida, the 54-hole stroke play tournament will feature a strong competitive field of 20 teams: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, Liberty, LSU, Mississippi State, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCF, UNF, USF, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Washington.
WHERE: The 3-day event will take place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course, the Gators' home course (Par-70, 6,701 yards) in Gainesville, Fla.
WHEN: The Gator Invitational will begin on Friday, Feb. 12 and conclude on Sunday, Feb. 14. The Tigers are set to tee off Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. with the individual group following shortly behind at 8:20 a.m.

INDIVIDUAL: Tommy Boone
Leading the Tiger lineup, veteran Rory Franssen (Inverness, Scotland) returns after a historic fall finish at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate. Firing a career-low 62, he became just the fourth golfer in Mizzou program history to shoot a 62 or better.
Securing the second spot this week is senior Jack Parker (Columbia, Mo.). Posting two rounds under-par during the Legends Collegiate Invitational, Parker tied his career-low round score of a 68.
Representing Mizzou in the third slot is sophomore Yu-Ta Tsai (Taipei, Taiwan). Adding to the fresh list of Tiger low scores, Tsai posted a 68 in the last round of the fall season, marking his new personal best round score.
Redshirt sophomore standout Ross Steelman (Columbia, Mo.) will compete in the fourth spot after notching five of nine rounds under-par during the three fall events
Rounding out the team is recent sophomore transfer Michael Terblanche (Hilton, KawZulu-Natal, South Africa). He looks to make his Mizzou career debut after competing at Hofstra University where he played in seven events and finished with the team's third-best scoring average as a freshman.
Competing as an individual is junior Tommy Boone (Plano, Texas) who looks to build off of his two-event fall season.
