A combined student section will occupy the northeast half of Faurot Field while single-game block seating will return for groups and student organizations
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Department of Athletics announced the first of its 2022 football gameday enhancements Tuesday, highlighted by changes to student and visiting team seat locations.
Capitalizing on late-season energy and momentum at Faurot Field and fueled by a desire to enhance the stadium atmosphere, Mizzou's student section will be moved to the four combined sections in the northeast corner of the stadium while visiting team fans – formerly seated behind the visiting team at the 50-yard line – will shift to the southeast corner near the visiting team entrance. The moves come after several meetings with student groups and on-campus stakeholders, as well as after a review of fan feedback received from ticketing and postgame surveys during the 2021 football season.
"After directly engaging with our fans and students, we wanted to better showcase the energy of a complete student section at Faurot Field," Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois said. "Our students bring a special energy to gameday as we saw first-hand in the overtime win over Florida. We want our opponents to know that Mizzou has a great home-field advantage and we are excited to take these steps to enhance the student experience and to better energize the atmosphere at football games. We recognize that these changes may cause an inconvenience to a small number of our fans and we appreciate their willingness to accommodate the continuing improvement to our gameday experience for the 2022 season and beyond."

Mizzou students will now occupy all of sections 107-110, with the continuous student section creating a better atmosphere and experience and will allow for block seating for groups and student organizations to be made available on a game-by-game basis in selected areas.
Tickets in the sections formerly occupied by visiting team fans will be made available to the general public as part of Mizzou's 2022 ticket sales process. Ticket renewals for 2022 are set to begin the week of December 13, 2021 with new season ticket inventory on sale during Winter 2022.
Approximately 281 ticket accounts were impacted by the student-section move and Mizzou Athletics has been in touch with those impacted and offered the opportunity to relocate to comparable or better seating within the stadium. Seats in the new visiting team sections were previously occupied by students or the visiting team's band.
"The Tiger Scholarship Fund staff will work carefully with each impacted ticket holder to help them maintain their gameday experience while allowing Mizzou to make these changes," Senior Associate AD/Chief Revenue Officer Greg Hulen said.
