Women's Basketball Faces No. 5 Baylor in Big 12/SEC Challenge

WACO, Texas – University of Missouri women's basketball (8-0) will look to take down No. 5 Baylor (7-1) in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. The Tigers have not played the Bears since departing the Big 12. Baylor leads the all-time series 16-5. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on ESPNU Courtney Lyle and Carolyn Peck will be on the call.

Mizzou will look to win in Waco for the first time since 1990. The Tigers are off to their best start since the 2015-16 season, winning the first eight games of the season. Junior guard Aijha Blackwell has led the charge in the early stages of the season. She is averaging 16.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest.

In the Tigers' last time out, Mizzou defeated SIUE 79-46, the largest margin of victory on the year. Blackwell finished with her fifth double-double of the season. Lauren Hansen added 16 points and she is now averaging 25 points per game over the last two games. The Australian, Sara-Rose Smith, scored 10 points while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 on the night.

Mizzou has had a player match or set a new career high in scoring in every game of the 2021-22 season. Lauren Hansen currently holds the season-high in scoring after dropping 34 points against Lehigh in the Christmas City Classic.
