Women's Basketball Falls on the Road

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball (8-2) fell on the road at Missouri State (7-2) by a score of 79-51.

Hayley Frank and Aijha Blackwell each finished in double-figures for the Tigers with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Blackwell has put up double-digit scoring efforts in six-straight games.

The Tigers shot a season-low of 34.6 percent from the field and were outrebounded by a margin of 37-26.

TURNING POINT

With the game tied at 25 in the second quarter, Missouri State closed the half on a 16-0 run to take a 41-25 lead into the break. The Lady Bears did not stop there. Missouri State extended the lead to as many as 31 in the second half.

The Tigers could not get back into the game, shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 12.5 percent from three in the second half.

NOTES

The Tigers put up season-lows in scoring, field goal percentage, three-point percentage, assists, and rebounds.

Hayley Frank led Mizzou in scoring with 12 points on the same court that she won four state championships in her high school career.

Missouri State is the first team to shoot over 50 percent from the field against the Tigers.

The Lady Bears' 10 turnovers matched Baylor as the fewest by a Mizzou opponent on the year.
