The Matchups

Mizzou will first wrestle Northern Iowa (0-0, 0-0 Big 12) for the first time as in-conference opponents since the Panthers moved from the MAC to the Big 12 following the 2016-17 season. The meeting will be the 10th consecutive year the two squads face off. In their last dual, the Tigers took down the No. 20 Panthers 34-6 in neutral Ames, Iowa. Seven of Mizzou's starters in last dual are projected to wrestle Saturday.

The headline bout for afternoon will be at 184 pounds as No. 10 Jeremiah Kent will look to defend his home mat against 2021 All-American No. 4 Parker Keckeisen. The dual will also see ranked matches at 125 pounds, 165 pounds and 285 pounds.

The Tigers' dual against the top-10 Hokies (1-1, 0-0 ACC) is highest-ranked matchup at Hearnes Center in nearly three years (No. 5 Mizzou vs. No. 2 Oklahoma State, 2/16/19). After a one-year hiatus, the two programs will resume their yearly meeting with stacked teams that feature ranked bouts at seven weight classes. The biggest matchup for the evening will come at 174 pounds with No. 9 Peyton Mocco wrestling the 2019 NCAA Champion No. 4 Mehki Lewis. Kent will also wrestle in another top-10 bout against No. 9 Hunter Bolen.
