The 74th ranked player in the nation picks the Tigers.
Columbia, MO. – Mizzou Women's Basketball head coach Robin Pingeton announced the addition of Averi Kroenke who signed her National Letter of Intent and will continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Missouri. A Columbia, Missouri native and Top-100 prospect, she is the lone signee in the women's basketball 2022 class.
"We are so excited that Averi is officially a Tiger," says Pingeton. "We've been watching and recruiting Averi for many years, and we are thrilled to finally add her to our family. She embodies so many things that we preach in our program—high character, positive energy, and relentless effort, and she is going to be such a dynamic addition to our roster. She does a little bit of everything on the court—she's a phenomenal defender, she can get to the basket, and she's a great rebounding guard. That well-rounded skill set along with her athleticism, high motor, and toughness is going to make an instant impact for us. But most importantly, we know Averi will set the bar high in the classroom, in the locker room, and within our community by just being the humble, grateful kid she is."
Kroenke, a 5-11 guard out of Rock Bridge High School, is the No. 74 overall recruit and No. 21 guard in the Class of 2022, according to ESPNW, and a two-time MBCA All-State selection. As a junior at Rock Bridge, she led the Bruins to a 16-5 record and a Class 6 District 8 Championship while averaging 17.7 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. She was also named the conference and district player of the year. While her basketball accomplishments are many, she has also exceled in the classroom, earning a 3.93 GPA and recognition as a member of the National Honor Society.
"I chose Mizzou because, first and foremost, I love the coaching staff," said Kroenke. "I truly believe they can help me become the best basketball player and person I can be. I also love their style of play and the family culture is unmatched. Lastly, Mizzou has been my dream school ever since I was little, and it means a lot to me that I get to represent my home state."
