Mizzou Volleyball’s Omazic Named to 2020 U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Team – Gold Roster

Tiger middle blocker set for second-straight summer with Team USA
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball junior MB Tyanna Omazic was one of 28 players selected to the U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team – Gold roster, announced Wednesday by USA Volleyball. This will mark Omazic's second consecutive summer with a U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team, as she competed on the 2019 Anaheim roster last June.
"This is another outstanding opportunity and recognition for Tyanna and we're excited to see what she can do," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Joshua Taylor said. "She has already done some great things with USA Volleyball in the past and we can't wait to see what she can bring this upcoming summer."
The 2020 U.S. Women's Collegiate National Team - Gold roster will train from July 5-12 in Anaheim, California, alongside the U.S. Women's National Team. Omazic was selected to this year's squad after excelling at the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a month ago.
Omazic enjoyed a breakthrough 2019 junior campaign at Mizzou, leading to her first-ever AVCA Southeast All-Region and All-SEC accolades. The Kansas City, Missouri, native's .386 overall hitting percentage ranked 28th in the NCAA and fourth in the Southeastern Conference.
The Tiger middle blocker established new single-season career-highs in kills (283), hitting (.386), assists (11), aces (33), digs (67) and points (366.0).
