COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (6-5) opens its 2020 home schedule at Taylor Stadium this weekend with Western Illinois visiting Mid-Missouri. The Tigers and Leathernecks open their three-game series Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Mizzou and Western Illinois close the weekend with back to back day games. First pitch Saturday and Sunday is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT and 1 p.m. CT, respectively.
Fans can tune-in to KTGR (105.1 FM, 100.5 FM, 1580 AM) Friday-Sunday and throughout the entire 2020 season, as Tex Little and Matt Michaels will be on the radio airwaves.

Series History vs. Western Illinois
- Mizzou leads the all-time series, 22-5.
- The two ballclubs last met 10 years ago, as Mizzou hosted Western Illinois at Taylor Stadium (March 10, 2010). The Tigers walked away with a 10-3 victory that evening.
- Mizzou and Western Illinois' last 16 all-time meetings have occurred in Columbia, Missouri. The last time the Tigers visited Macomb, Illinois, was on May 5, 1993.
Tigers Defeat No. 22 Oklahoma and Texas in Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic
- Mizzou concluded its long 10-day road trip and the month of February at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic. The Southeastern Conference and Big 12 Conference squared off inside Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas, in one of the nation's premier early-season tournaments.
- After suffering a loss to Baylor in its opener, Mizzou bounced back in a big way with victories over No. 22 Oklahoma (Feb. 29) and Texas (March 1).
- Against the nationally ranked Sooners, the Tigers erased a 5-0 fifth inning deficit and produced an 8-7, 10-inning walk-off victory. Senior Peter Zimmermann was the afternoon's hero, ripping a walk-off RBI ground-rule double. Redshirt Freshman Luke Mann produced a clutch game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to setup the eventual walk-off Tigers triumph.
- In its weekend finale versus a then 10-1 overall record Texas squad, Mizzou's offense exploded for nine runs on 13 hits. Redshirt Junior Brandt Belk and Zimmermann led the way, recording four and three hits against Longhorns pitching, respectively.
- Belk and Zimmermann were virtually unstoppable in Minute Maid Park, hitting .538 (7-for-13) and .500 (6-for-12), respectively. For their outstanding weekends, the Tiger duo were named to the 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic All-Tournament Team.
