COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (10-5) posted its fifth come-from-behind victory this season after toppling Northern Illinois Tuesday, 6-3. The Huskies struck quickly with a three-run home run in the top of the first inning, but senior Peter Zimmermann belted a three-run blast of his own in the bottom half to even the ballgame.
The Tigers then saw fantastic work out of the bullpen from senior Art Joven and junior Trey Dillard, as the duo combined for 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing only one hit.
Mizzou pushed two runners across in the fifth inning and added a single run in the seventh to sew up the series-opening triumph.

Coach Bieser Postgame Soundbites
On Tuesday's series-opening win over Northern Illinois…
"It was really an impressive answer by us in the bottom of the first inning. We came out and gave up three runs and were able to quickly come back and answer with three of our own. I was proud with the way our guys were able to do that. It helped settle down our young starter (Wilhelm). He then settled in himself and did a really good job."
On Joven's outstanding work out of the bullpen…
"We've seen it before. We know it's in there. He has to get on a roll. This should definitely be some good building blocks for him."
On the offense's balance…
"Austin (James) is starting to feel it and he's looking really good at the plate. We need to get some consistency down in the bottom of the order and he did a really good job down there of getting things going. We just need to be more complete up-and-down the lineup. I do believe it's coming and we just have to keep working with our guys."
