Senior Rory Franssen carded the fourth round of 62 or better in program history Monday
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Men's Golf senior veteran Rory Franssen fired a career-low 62 on Monday, launching him to T-1 after the second round of the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Alabama. As a team, the Tigers collectively recorded a 5-over par 285 to finish the day in 12th against the all-SEC competition.
Franssen's historic round put him into the program record books, as he became just the fourth Tiger in program history to fire a 62 or better. His bogey-free round was anchored by eight birdies, giving him 15 through 36 holes. He shot a 67 on day one and is 11-under par, making him a co-leader heading in to Tuesday's final round of the fall campaign.
Redshirt sophomore Ross Steelman also rose up the leaderboard to stand at T-12 after sinking four birdies to card a 3-under 67. He's gone under-par in five of eight rounds this fall.
Senior Jack Parker closed the day with a score of 78, while Junior Tommy Boone posted a 79. Both Tigers head into the last round at T-65. Rounding out Mizzou at T-67 with an 8-over 78 was sophomore Yu-Ta Tsai.
