COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Basketball (5-17, 2-7 SEC) dropped an overtime heartbreaker to No. 25 Arkansas, 85-81, on Sunday afternoon at Mizzou Arena. Mizzou led by as much as 13 in the fourth quarter, but a late furious Razorback comeback sent the game to overtime, where Arkansas outscored Mizzou, 11-7.
TURNING POINT
Mizzou held a 13-point lead at 69-56 with 5:35 left in the game, but Arkansas closed the fourth quarter on an 18-5 run to tie the game at 74 as the clock hit zero. Arkansas guard Alexis Tolefree led the charge for the Razorbacks, as she scored 14 of her game-high 35 points in the fourth quarter.
TOP TIGERS
- Senior guard Amber Smith (Shreveport, La.) led the way for Mizzou in the game, as she recorded her fifth 20-point game of the season with 22 points to go along with nine rebounds and three assists.
- Freshman forward Hayley Frank (Strafford, Mo.) scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and had four rebounds.
- With 14 points, freshman guard Aijha Blackwell (Berkeley, Mo.) scored in double figures for the sixth consecutive game. The Tiger freshman also had eight rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes.
NOTES
- Mizzou shot 81.0 percent (17-of-21) from the free throw line, marking the 12th time this season the Tigers have shot over 75 percent or better from the line and the 10th time they have made at least 80 percent from the charity stripe.
- Mizzou shot 46.8 percent (29-of-62) from the field, the 12th time this season they have shot 40 percent or better in a game.
- Mizzou hit the glass hard, collecting a season-high 47 rebounds.
- Smith posted her fifth 20-point game of the season and 11th of her career with a team-high 22 points.
- Smith's 22 points moved her up to No. 23 on Mizzou's all-time scoring list with 1,205 points, as she passed Stacy Williams (1,194 points, 1990-94) and LaToya Bond (1,186 points, 2001-05).
- The Tiger senior also grabbed nine rebounds, marking the 13th time this season and the 60th time in her career she has had five or more rebounds.
- With 14 points, Frank scored in double figures for the third consecutive game and the 15th time overall this season.
- Frank drained two three-pointers to move to No. 4 all-time among Mizzou freshmen with 33 threes, passing Julie Helm (32, 1996-97) and Maddie Stock (31, 2012-13).
- Blackwell continued her remarkable stretch of production, as she scored in double figures for the sixth straight game and the 13th time in the last 15 games.
- The Tiger freshman also grabbed eight rebounds, the 18th time this season she has grabbed at least five boards.
- Redshirt senior forward Hannah Schuchts (Tallahassee, Fla.) had four blocks in the game to move to No. 6 on the Mizzou all-time blocks list with 126, passing Nikki Smith (125 blocks, 1991-95) and Kesha Bonds (124 blocks, 1995-99).
- Schuchts' four blocks marked the 16th time this season she has recorded multiple blocks, and the fifth time she has had at least three blocks.
