Mizzou Track and Field Set to Host Missouri Intercollegiate Meet

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Track and Field will continue its 2019-2020 season on Friday, January 17 when they host the Missouri Intercollegiate Meet. The meet will take place at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Track and Field will continue its 2019-2020 season on Friday, January 17 when they host the Missouri Intercollegiate Meet. The meet will take place at the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse. 

Field events are scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. CT, with track events scheduled to follow at 11:30 a.m. CT and will continue on a rolling schedule. Twelve teams will be in competition on Friday, including Arkansas State, Columbia College, Fort Scott CC, Highland CC, Kansas City, Lincoln, MidAmerica Nazarene, Missouri S&T (Men), Missouri Valley, Southeast Missouri State and Western Illinois.

The Tigers look to continue the succes they had at the season opener, where they set three top-10 program marks and four meet records. 

The field events will begin with the men's weight throw, where the Mizzou men logged three top-10 finishes at the Mizzou Holiday Opener. Redshirt senior Patrick Kunza (Wentzville, Mo.) finished second at the last outing with a mark of 19.38m (63-7). 

The women's weight throw will be highlighted by redshirt senior Jordan McClendon (Black Jack, Mo.), who finished first in the event at the season opener. The Tigers locked down the top six finishes at the meet and look to repeat the dominant performance. 

Following the weight throw, juniro Arielle Mack (El Paso, Texas) will take the line in the women's long jump. Mack set her personal best in the event at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge during the 2018 season. Mack will also compete in the shot put and the 60m hurdles. Junior Jason Edwards will compete in the long jump as his first event of the day, also scheduled to compete in the shot put and the 60m dash. 

To wrap up the field events, three Mizzou women will compete in the triple jump. Freshman Mara Hausler (Stralsund, Germany) will look to repeat her first place performance in the event. She recorded the second-best triple jump performance in school history at the season opener with a mark of 12.87m (42-2.75). 

In the track events, Tigers Nylo Clarke (Riverside, Mo.) and Morgan O'Neal (Sylacauga, Ala.) will both look to repeat their first place performances recorded at the season opener. Clarke earned first place in the 60m dash, recording the fourth-best time in the event in program history. He also contributed to a first-place finish in the 4x400m relay. O'Neal earned first place in the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 9.17s.
