
Mizzou Men’s Golf Ties for 10th at Loaded Inverness Intercollegiate

Franssen leads Tigers with Top-25 finish
Toledo, Ohio – Mizzou Men's Golf wrapped up its second tournament of the season in Toledo, Ohio this afternoon. The Tigers posted a team score of 889 (37-over) on their way to a 10th place finish at the Par-71 Inverness Intercollegiate. After carding a 296 and 301 in Monday's first and second rounds respectively, the Tigers recorded an 8-over par 292 in Tuesday's final round.
Senior Rory Franssen (Inverness, Scotland) led Mizzou individually for the third time in the Tigers' last five tournaments dating back to last spring with a three-day score of 219 (6-over) that tied him for 25th overall. Franssen finished out the tournament strong, making two birdies in the first three holes of his final round en route to a 2-over 73.
Freshman Viktor Einarsson (Reykjavik, Iceland) shined in his first career collegiate start. After scores of 75 and 76 in the first two days of the tournament, Einarsson turned it on in the final round, making four birdies and shooting an even par 71, a new career low round. He finished tied for 35th in the tournament with a score of 222 (9-over).
Junior Jack Parker (Columbia, Mo.) also had a solid showing at the Inverness. Parker also took advantage of the favorable conditions on Tuesday to shoot his best score of the tournament, a 1-over 72. His final round vaulted him into 45th for the tournament, posting a three-day score of 224 (11-over)
Senior Ricky Sanders (The Hague, Netherlands) was consistent throughout the week, only making one double bogey or worse. He posted scores of 75, 77 and 76, respectively, and tied for 57th with a tournament score of 228 (15-over).
Rounding out the Tiger lineup was redshirt freshman Ross Steelman (Columbia, Mo.). Steelman placed 70th with a score of 232 (19-over) for the tournament.
